What are sanctions?

Sanctions are restrictions imposed on individuals, entities or countries; in an effort to stop their activities and apply pressure on them to change their unlawful pursuits.

 

What is a sanction check?

Sanctions checks are detailed searches against government and international databases of Sanctions Lists of individuals, entities, countries or organizations who are legally restricted from certain activities or industries.

 

Which sanction lists?

We check with the US OFAC SDN, US OFAC non-SDN, UN, EU, UK, AUS and Dutch sanction lists.

On request we check with the sanction lists of the Bureau of Industry and Security and the State Department. 

 

Which lists are part of the USA OFAC non-SDN? 
The following lists are part of the USA OFAC non-SDN:
•    Foreign Sanctions Evaders (FSE) 
•    Sectoral Sanctions Identifications (SSI) 
•    Palestinian Legislative Council (NS-PLC) 
•    List of Foreign Financial Institutions Subject to Correspondent Account or Payable-Through Account Sanctions (CAPTA)
•    Non-SDN Menu-Based Sanctions List (NS-MBS)
•    Non-SDN Chinese Military-Industrial Complex Companies List (NS-CMIC)

 

Which lists are part of the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the State Department? 
The following lists are part of the
•    Entity List (EL
•    Military End User (MEU) List
•    Unverified List (UVL) 
•    Denied Persons List (DPL)
•    ITAR Debarred (DTC)
•    Nonproliferation Sanctions (ISN)

 

How often are all lists updated?

At least three times a week and more if necessary.

 

Can I also check for organizations?

Yes, you can either search for persons or for organizations.  

 

Can I adjust the scan treshold?

Yes, you can adjust the scan treshold at the apllication settings in the range from 70% till 79%. On request we can adjust this to a higher or lower treshold.

 

How long is the data stored?

After 4 days we will delete your uploaded data, except the conclusions you created regarded the matches. These are stored encrypted, so you can use them for future matching. 

 

Where is my data stored?

The servers are located The Netherlands and are compliant with GDPR.

 

How many users can use the tool?

Default 4 user accounts can be made for the sanctioncheck. On request up to 10,000 user accounts can be made. 

 

How often can I use the sanctioncheck?    

The number of times you can use the sanctioncheck is unlimited. We do have a fair use policy.
